Fall Family of Five

It's beginning to look a lot like fall, and, occasionally, it even feels a bit like it (though it didn't today)! Since Matt's birthday is on Halloween, the onset of autumn brings extra excitement at our house, and this being Lillie's first fall is even more special! Today, we visited Gentry's Pumpkin Farm, and had a ball! It was Lillie's first trip to this family favorite, and she was definitely the cutest pumpkin in the patch!

We ran through the corn mazes (getting way more lost in the kiddie maze than the adult
maze), explored the log cabin outhouse, and
teepees, and played in the barn maze and on the slides. (Will couldn't get enough of the slide even though he was nearly as long as it was!) We played in corn, saw lots of farm animals, and played with lincoln logs, a farm set, and tons of other neat toys in the
granary. Will loved riding on the toy tractors in the toddler section (though I thought I might have to show his birth certificate to prove he's only two), and
Sophie was introduced to swinging on tire
swings - daddy style (let's just say Matt pushes a little
higher than I do!) Lillie discovered hay, and I realized that if we just had a couple of hay bales, I could get rid of all the baby toys! We had more fun than should be had in one afternoon, and I can't recommend Gentry's Farm nearly enough for families in the Franklin or Nashville area.

Snacks, a hayride, and the nature trail finished out our day. With "just one more" whirl on the tire swing, even Sophie was tuckered out, and we were ready to pick our pumpkins and head for home. After nearly four hours of outdoor fun, Matt and I remembered why we always pick one day and carve on another! We wrapped up an amazing day at the pumpkin farm, but we are just getting started with fall fun as a family of five!
