Go Skunks!

Sophie's best friend in the world is Jack McClanahan, who is the son of my best friend in the world, Ashley McClanahan. Now one might think that Sophie and Jack have been forced into
being friends, and really, they have, but their love for one another goes far beyond anything that ">Ash and I could have ever forced upon them. And even though Soph has had their wedding planned for years now, they actually act more like brother and
sister than anything else!

Even though he wants to play football men and she wants to read a book, and she wants to color while he wants to wrestle, most of the time they are able to meet in
the middle. Now that we are back in Tennessee, they are having so much fun spending more time together.

This past Saturday, we were able for the very first time to watch Jack play soccer on his team, the Nashville Skunks! This is Jack's third season playing, but our first time watching him, so we were more than a little excited! Hence, the skunk poster and mascot!

Even though the Skunks had a little trouble (they don't officially keep score, but Jack is a math whiz and highly-competitive, so we definitely stayed informed...), Jack played great! He is an awesome defensive player, and he did amazing keeping his head and heart in the game even when his team was behind. Of course, Soph was utterly exhausted from all her cheering, and she would have downed all Jack's water if I would have let her
(Will actually did eat some of the team snack)!

Now the Skunks' coach is the perfect coach for fans who are more than a little excited! From choosing a hilarious team name to teaching the kids their Peeee-U battle cry, Jack's coach keeps the fun in the soccer experience. He is more than a little excited himself about coaching and about building into the kids, teaching them to work hard and stay positive, and he
made Sophie feel like a million bucks by giving her tons of attention for working hard on her poster! And everyone loved Lillie as the team mascot! Sophie and the Little Stinker were even asked to be in a picture with the team!

It was so fun to see Jack's world of sports and Sophie's world of art intersect so perfectly. It was a neat reminder that even though they are totally different kids, they make amazing best friends. We had such a great time watching Jack, and we can't wait to go back out to cheer for the Skunks! Peeee U!
