Party of Six


I really still have a hard time believing that in around six months, there will be four children sitting in this window seat. It's even harder for me to believe that in six months, we will be a party of six whenever we go anywhere! But I went for my 13-week ultrasound last Friday, and I think I've finally found the strength to actually blog about the fact that we are adding another baby to our family!

I still feel pretty certain that we just did that, (added a baby, I mean), and I'm 100% sure that I had a still-nursing, not-yet-walking infant when I learned this news a couple of months ago. I've definitely had a bit of an adjustment period to the news of our growing family, and this pregnancy has been very tough sick-wise, second only to my pregnancy with Sophie. All this has resulted in very little blogging, even less cleaning, and close to no cooking. Only the very strong (i.e. Aunt Pammie) would dare to visit the Roden home right now! In addition to hyperemesis, I seem to have developed narcolypsy, so Matt has become Mr. mom, the chief cleaner, and the man in charge of bringing home dinner. (The guy could really use your prayers, as I haven't exactly been a delight.)

To say that most things are turned upside down is putting it mildly, but at 13 weeks, I'm beginning to feel almost human again. I'm praying that the worst is over, and I'm hoping we can find a "new normal" for the remainder of this pregnancy, (and then of course, we'll need to find a "new normal" as a party of six)! Like most "parties," I'm confident that it will be lots of work, tons of mess, and plenty of chaos, but I'm hoping and praying it will also be full of fun, laughter, and memories.

You'll be terrific with four just as you have been with one, two, and three. And besides, now when you to Disney World they will all have a partner to ride the rides. :)

I am excited for you! I know you will be great with 4. I'll never forget the shock and awe of having two children 12 months apart and it is surely a shock for anyone, no matter how many children you have. :D Hope you are feeling better now.

Sophie had one of her most perfect days on her 8th birthday, and I loved that we were able to give her a dream-come-true day! She woke up to a birthday breakfast, but without our typical doughnuts because we were headed straight for the Franklin Farmer's Market. We showered her with art supplies and an Ariel birthday sign, and she was thrilled about all of them!  At the Farmer's Market, Sophie roamed around like the gypsy she is, thrilled to have $10 (instead of her usual $5) to spend! Happy 31st Birthday Matt! Most people say things like, "I can hardly believe it's been a year since we fill-in-the blank... My, where does the time go???" Well, I know where the time since your last birthday has gone. It's been right here backing over us like a mack truck! The Bane Bane Game

This was one of the last things I saw before collapsing in the bed last night. I went to check on Soph and Will, and when I saw them holding hands asleep, I almost heard God laughing-ly whisper, "this blessing was brought to you courtesy of the condo!" So, I went downstairs, grabbed the camera, and whispered back my thanks for children that are getting to, not having to experience sharing a room. Several hours later (though I would have sworn it was only a few minutes), I'm sleeping peacefully, with Lillie and Matt tucked in beside me, only to see two grinning roosters, loudly crowing, "Happy Bane Bane Day!
