The Third Time's the Charm

Image
I'm not sure if it is true that the third time is the charm, (since I'm pretty partial to my first and second), but I know that our third is becoming quite charm-ing! At her two month check up, she weighed in at 11 pounds even and 24 inches. Her length was in the 93% percentile! That is just a half inch smaller than Big Will was at his 2 month visit (though he had a full two pounds on her). She is 1/2 inch longer than Sophie was, but a little over a pound lighter. Dr. Dick said to expect her to be long and lean, much like her sister. (Dr. Dick also mentioned that brother should be nicknamed "Tank!) Though she cried her eyes out for her immunizations, she calmed very quickly, and had no problems whatsoever. The frequency of her sweet smiles seem to grow each day, and she is working hard laughing! No real laughs yet, although we've had a couple of close calls. We also caught her worshipping in her sleep this week! We all had so much fun watching her snoozing with her a

20 Reasons Why Aunt Hope Should Quit School and Move In With Us

Image
In honor of Aunt Hope's 20th birthday, and in light of the fact that she is about to register for another quarter of school after spending the past three weeks helping us survive (and we are not quite ready for her to leave), I thought I would give Hope a few things to think over. Now, I admit, some of the following reasons Hope should quit school benefit me somewhat, but most are for her own benefit. 1. If you go back to school, you won't be able to hear Choo Choo Soul each and every time you are in the car. And who wants to be in a car without hearing cheesy rap songs about trains blaring from the speakers? Further more, you might not have said songs stuck in your head for the rest of the day! Chugga-choo, Chugga choo 2. If you go back to college, you will miss out on the opportunity to pass out each night on an egg-crate on the floor of a nursery, numb from bone-crushing exhaustion. Studies show that falling into a coma really is the best way to fall asleep... 3. I'm j

Happy Day

Image
Will has moved full force from being every bit the baby brother and a reluctant big brother to expert big brother verging on taking on Matt for title of man of the house! Will is Lillie's protector/shadow, and he looks out for her every moment of the day. I have do everything in my power to keep him from waking her up as he snuggles next to her in our bed in the morning, as he can hardly go 12 hours without his "Lillie-fix!" Once he's finally got her up, the play-by-play of her "actions" (which of course, are very few) begins. First, things first, Will checks on her toes! "She got toes! She got toes!" said with the excitement that would convince anyone that she grew toes overnight! And of course, in Will fashion, he can't just say it once, and though I don't have the patience to test it, I think he would repeat himself upwards of 100 times if weren't acknowledged. And God bless Lillie, he isn't content just to visually check, but he

Two Months

The past two months have been tough, but my, how Lillian Hope has helped. She is a beautiful reminder of the goodness of God. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.- Romans 15:13

Sisters

Image
Sophie claims she "prayed her heart out" for a little sister. She points to different places in our house where she prayed that our third baby would be a little girl! She could not be more excited about Lillie getting old enough talk and to play dress up and princess with her. She has big plans for a "Girls' Club," and the three of us teaming up against Daddy and Will for every manner of competion. She already holds Lillie every day, reads to her most nights, and declares her love to her around the clock. Sophie hasn't considered the possibility that she and Lillie won't always be best friends. She hasn't thought about the inevitable arguements she will have with her younger sister. She can't yet imagine that Lillie will ever get on her nerves or that they will ever be jealous of each other. That they will ever want to pull each other's hair out seems ridiculous to her. Them hurting each other's feelings is the farthest thing from her min
