The Lillie of Our Family
At four months, Lillie continues bring amazing joy to our family! She is a happy girl, smiling, not just with her mouth, but with her whole face! She likes peek-a-boo, and she loves "flying baby" where I lift her high in the air. She loves music, though if brother is around, the songs have to be about trains! She likes a nice bath (though she doesn't get very many), and she loves to coo and babble to keep our attention.
She has expressive eyes that seems to reveal her
moods. She has a serious, inquistive side and a playful joyful side. Of course, she also has a tired-out get-those-big-kids-away-from-me side! There is a definite gentleness about Lillie that is distinct from both Sophie and Will. She can certainly let you know when she's unhappy, but her cry lacks the dramatic intensity of her sister's and the pure strength of her brother's. Lillie is almost never put down and though she's rolled over once, she may never do it again as she is most often in my arms (or Patti-Grams' Aunt Tori's or Aunt Hope's...)
Lillie is a long, lean baby! She is over 25 inches, but weighs only 13 pounds! She has delicate features, bright blue eyes, and the lightest "lily-white" skin you've ever seen (only hypo-allergenic for this girl)! Though we'll be at the beach lots this summer, she'll be lucky if she gets to dip her "lily-white" toes in the water! I keep an extra sun hat in the diaper bag, and she can barely go from a parking lot to a store with out one!
She is "talking" to us more and more, cooing and
exploring what she can do with her voice. She loves to blow bubbles, and she is nearly obsessed with her hands. (Neither of her siblings so enjoyed their hands!) She is definitely the most hot-natured of my babies. She likes to kick and play more each day, and she continues to respond well to her brother and sister. She still isn't that crazy about men, but she and Patti-Grams are getting pretty tight! We call her Lillie Pie, little one, pretty girl, and flower.
Each day, I fall a little more in love with my beautiful, bright-eyed smiley girl. I am amazed, once again, by how much I can love another child, and I am so excited about getting to know her better each day. Lillie is our precious, delicate flower, and we are so thankful she is the Lillie of our family.
