Two Kids, Two Santas, and a Pink Pig
Today we celebrated Christmas with a trip to Lenox to ride the pink pig and visit our favorite Santa. This morning we realized that this is Sophie's fifth trip to ride Priscilla the Pink Pig! She doesn't remember all the trips, but she loves all her plush pink pigs and pig Christmas ornaments that commemorate our visit each year. This was Will's second trip, and it has turned out to be the perfect Christmas outing for our family because Sophie adores all things pink and Will adores trains. He started yelling "on, on" as soon as he saw the pink train!
After two rides on the train and a run through the Pink Pig gift shop, we went to visit our favorite Santa. The "real"Santa as Sophie calls him. Both kids
enjoyed their visit with him, and Sophie asked him to bring her American Girl animals and Will asked for cars.
After lunch at Chick-Fil-A and some time playing Wii in the middle of Lenox, we decided to head over to Atlantic Station, but not before snapping a few pictures of the Macy's tree, one of our favorite Atlanta Christmas decorations. Will loved watching the star change colors and naming the colors as they changed.
We first discovered Christmas at Atlantic Station when I was pregnant with Will and we attended the tree lighting. Last year, Matt and I spent our anniversary at Atlantic Station, and we had so much fun with the "snowfall" that occurs nightly in the central park area that we knew we couldn't let Sophie and Will miss it! When we arrived we bumped into another Santa, and the kids went right up to visit him without any wait! (I think it was actually a Santa for dogs, but my kids were none the wiser, and the pictures turned out great!) After playing in the Central Park, enjoying the gorgeous tree, and listening to two different groups play Christmas music, it was time to enjoy the snow! The kids were over-the-moon excited, and watching them play was probably the highlight of an already great day!
We wound up our night with dinner at CPK, and Christmas music on the ride home. The kids were unbelievably good, and we all agreed our day was a wonderful way to celebrate the season in Atlanta!
